Bemes

Total Acreage: 12
Project Begun: 2021

Directly adjacent to the Goodenow Forest Preserve, with 2 acres of prairie, 5 acres of wetlands, and a thriving 10 acre native oak and hickory savannah, the Bemes project has been our largest undertaking to-date, and is located south of Bemes Rd, in Crete township, in the rural south Chicago suburbs. Largely focused on removing invasive species and re-seeding with native trees and flowering plants, along with indigenous grasses. We have worked closely with Woods to Wetlands, Irie Farms, The Bee & Butterfly Habitat Fund, and Tree Fallen on this endeavor.
